Run Astro Run! Astro’s Playroom Guide

Astro Bot is a 2024 platform game developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5 to coincide with PlayStation’s 30th anniversary. Following Astro’s Playroom (2020), it is the fifth overall installment in the Astro Bot series and marks Team Asobi’s first game developed since its separation from Japan Studio. Another display you can unlock for the Labo area is a sign with the Sony Interactive Entertainment logo which, if punched three times, will drop down and reveal the Sony Computer Entertainment logo. This is the old name for Sony Interactive Entertainment, which changed to that name in 2016. Throughout Astro’s Playroom, notably the Labo area and SSD Speedway, you’ll find boxes of Data with 8MB printed on them. This references the PlayStation 2 Memory Card, which had a capacity of 8 Megabytes.

The game is a fantastic tech demo for the DualSense controller while also being an enjoyable platformer in its own right. Astro’s Playroom has been described as a love letter to PlayStation, as the game is full of references to past and present Sony franchises. Astro & his crew lead you into a magical introduction through the PlayStation®5!

Being cheeky robots ourselves, we thought it would be fun to turn this into a treasure hunt riddle and see how long it would take anyone to figure it out. What a big surprise to see it took the community less than 3 hours to clear that riddle. If you have missed it, here is a quick rundown of what you have to do.We hid a secret capsule in the first area of GPU Jungle (Render Forest). To make it appear, you must stand on top of a big plant near the edge of the level, just behind the Bloodborne Hunter Bot. Inside the capsule, another Special Bot (Lady Maria) appears to be trapped and needs rescuing. Each world represents a classic PlayStation console from the PS1 all the way up to the PS5.

A Trip Through Memory Lane

Though Astro Bot’s references are cooler, both games do a great job with what they were aiming for. Playroom focused on the consoles and its devices, being more of a walk in memory lane through all the gaming years PlayStation has provided, even having the PS1’s tech demo as a boss. Plus, it’s hard to beat the nostalgia of hearing a PS1 and a PS2 starting up here. Astro’s Playroom is a 2020 platform game developed by Japan Studio‘s Team Asobi division and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. A sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission, the game comes pre-installed on every console, serving additionally as a free tech demo for the DualSense controller. Also at the second Checkpoint, head left along the cliff to find a Bot kneeling in front of a lad with a staff.

Artifact 2/2 “PlayStation Mouse” – In the section where you are meant to jump across the clouds, instead of going towards the checkpoint you should jump onto the cliff ledges which lead higher up. From there you can climb up to the top section on the right to find this artifact. Puzzle Piece 2/4– In the area with the first blowing cloud, run against the wind to grab this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – When you exit the caves and are out of the ship, drop down to the lower floor to find this puzzle piece underneath some glass.

The PS5 comes with a free game that not only demonstrates the new console’s abilities but celebrates the long history of PlayStation. Now jump back out and left to land on a silver switch, raising a block that helps you jump up to a second switch. Land on that one to raise another platform that lets you reach Puzzle Piece #4.

While Astro’s Playroom’s new update was subtle, Team Asobi and PlayStation have been promoting Astro Bot’s new free DLC content. The first two new levels launched on February 13 and 20, and a new level is to be added weekly until March 13. After completing all DLC levels, a new game mode called Time Attack will be available as well. It is unclear whether Astro’s Playroom will get more updates in the future, but it is likely that Astro Bot will, considering its incredible success. While it’s not the game’s fault, it makes every exclusive PS5 game feel like it lacks DualSense exclusivity.

Artifact 2/3 “Playstation Portable” – After riding the rotating platform, there is a switch on the other side which creates a lily pad platform back to the right. You need to jump to the left to reach a room with another rotating platform. Puzzle Piece 4/4– While on the floating ice platforms, this puzzle piece is in the air while you are on the second one. Artifact 2/2 “PS3 Game Disc” – From the central large ice area go to the left across the controller symbol ice blocks.

The PS5 launched on November 12, and we’ve compiled GameSpot’s console and game reviews in one place so you can make a purchasing decision. From console exclusives to third-party hits, the PS5’s library is full of great games. A PS5 is hard to come by, and it’s hard to get new games that make the most of its power.

Checkpoint 3

The base game comprises a total of 43 trophies, offering a balanced mix of exploration, skill-based challenges, and nostalgic collectible hunts. These trophies are categorized into four distinct types, each presenting a unique path to completion. Embark on a thrilling adventure through the nostalgic world of PlayStation with our comprehensive Astro’s Playroom trophy guide! This roadmap will navigate you through every achievement, from the easiest bronze to the coveted platinum, ensuring a seamless and rewarding trophy-hunting experience on your PS5. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – At the second checkpoint instead of going forward, go to the left and up to a platform where you can find a spot to blow into the mic. Artifact 2/3 “SingStar Microphone” – From the same red room as puzzle piece 3, drop through the hole in the bottom of the room to find a frozen area.

How To Import The Special Bots In Astro Bot

Puzzle Piece 3/4– At the next checkpoint there are some spots you can bounce on to climb up the platforms. Instead of going up, bounce to the opposite side to find this puzzle piece underneath the platform. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Just after the next checkpoint, there are a bunch of explosive enemies on the ground you can light using your ship thrusters. When they explode they destroy the ground, revealing an area with this puzzle piece.

Discovery of these hidden trophies often relies on keen observation skills and a willingness to experiment. Players must meticulously explore every nook and cranny of the game world, searching for subtle clues and hidden interactions. Paying attention to environmental details, such as unusual objects or hidden pathways, can lead to the discovery of secret areas and unlockable trophies. The Gold trophies in Astro’s Playroom represent the pinnacle of challenge, demanding mastery of the game’s mechanics and a deep understanding of its intricacies.

Rather than using cartridges, the PSP is one of the only handhelds to use optical media for the task. UMDs weren’t just for games, as Sony released many movies and even a few TV shows on the format to be viewed on the handheld, most famously Spider-Man 2. gg 88 is the peripheral designed for use with the Buzz! Series of trivia games for the PlayStation 2 and 3, with over eighteen games released between 2005 and 2010. The first PS3 Buzz, Quick TV, introduced a wireless version of the Buzz Controller.

These are the icons for the Xross Media Bar, which debuted on the 2003 PSX console in Japan, but is more known for its use on the PSP, PS3 and on Bravia TVs. The logos are still in use today, with the exception of the old PSN logo. One of the displays that you can unlock for the Labo area is a Bot with a mess of cards with various “PS” logos. These are actually all of Manabu Sakamoto’s designs for the PlayStation logo, before he landed on the one still in use today. In the PlayStation Labo area below the entryway is a device that lets you view all your Artefacts up close. The device is a PocketStation, a peripheral for the PS1 that was part Memory Card.

This is a reference to 2020’s Death Stranding by Kojima Productions on PS4, which stars Norman Reedus as courier Sam Bridges in a post-apocalyptic America. In the first mud pit in Gusty Gateway, look in the right-hand corner for a skeleton swinging a sword around with a distinctive shield. The shield reveals that this is a reference to 1998’s MediEvil on PS1 by SCE Cambridge, about the knight Sir Daniel Fortesque being brought back to life so he can live up to his own falsified legacy. The PlayStation 5 Pro is the more powerful version of the original PlayStation 5, similar to the PlayStation 4 Pro.
